No prostitution was widely practice thoughout american but even in the early 1800s it was still technically illigal. It was one of the laws taken from the British commenwealth that outlawed prostitution but never enforced it.
@smoothbrother69: Prostitution was legal in most American counties for years after it’s founding. Since many laws have been written to benefit women solely since 1920, the laws gradually changed along with it. Our divorce laws aren’t Christian, that’s for certain.
