Search engine optimization is great way to get visitors to your church’s website, but it takes time. If only you could pay someone to skip ahead in line. You can! Pay-per-click search marketing is a way to get in the search engines for your targeted keywords in less than 24 hrs.</p>
<p><strong>What is Pay-Per-Click Search Marketing?</strong><br />With <a rel="nofollow" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);" href="http://marketing.ourchurch.com/">search engine optimization</a> you attempt to increase your rankings in the natural search results by optimizing your website. The only thing you may have to pay for is the optimization, if you hire someone to optimize your website. All the traffic that you get from the search engines does cost you a thing. With Pay-Per-Click (PPC) search marketing, you don’t have to optimize your website (though I recommend you still do). Instead you bid to have your website listed in the search results for certain keywords and then pay for each visitor that comes to your website through that listing. So, every time someone clicks on your listing, you pay, thus pay-per-click.</p>
<p>The most common pay-per-click options are Google’s Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, and Microsoft Adcenter. Currently it’s estimated that Google controls about 90% of all pay-per-click search marketing (report), so I’m going to focus on Google Adwords.</p>
<p>The PPC ads are displayed on the top and right side of the search results. In most search engines, they are labeled as “Sponsored Links”.</p>
<p><strong>How PPC Works:</strong><br />Pay-per-click search marketing campaigns can be rather simple or quite complex depending on how involved you want to get. On the simple side, you can setup your <a rel="nofollow" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);" href="http://churchmarketingonline.com/">church marketing</a> PPC campaign in 6 steps:</p>
<p>Setup an account with Google Adwords <br />1. Choose the location and language for the ads (listings are called ads in PPC search marketing) <br />2. Setup the text for the ads <br />3. Pick the keywords you want to target <br />4. Choose a bidding price <br />5. Start the campaign </p>
<p>In fact you could probably get your PPC campaign going in about an hour or less.</p>
<p>More advanced Adwords users can setup targeted ads for each keyword or keyword group, track the click-through rate for each ad, and refine the ads to get the best click-through rate. You can refine your bids to get the best result for the lowest cost per click. You can also track the visitors that come to your site through your Adwords campaign, setup conversion goals (actions you want visitors to do), and setup landing pages on your site related to the keywords in your ad campaign. These more complicated steps are not necessary, but can produce better results.</p>
<p>For most churches, however, the simple approach will suffice. The keywords that will be most valuable to most churches are local keywords. So, you already have an idea of what keywords you want to choose. In addition, with pay-per-click campaigns, keyword popularity isn’t very important. Some keywords may get searched 100 times a month and others only 5 times a month, but you want to show up on the results for both and you don’t pay anything extra for it. So, keyword research is minimized.</p>
<p><strong>The Best Marketing Value Ever?</strong><br />For most local keywords, especially church-related keywords, few if any organizations are bidding. Therefore, keyword bids will most likely be very low (around $0.05 – $0.15 per click). Imagine getting new people to your website for only $0.05 to $0.15 each. Compare that to the cost of direct mail, billboards, newspaper ads, or any other kind of adverting and it’s an absolute bargain! Larger cities may require higher bids, but bids are still generally less than $0.50 per click.</p>

If you do a search in Google for practically any keyword, you will see &#8220;sponsor&#8221; ads listed both on top and on the right side of the search result pages. <p>&#13;Pay per click search engine marketing is great for those who don&#8217;t have time to market their website in other ways. Instead of going through all the trouble of optimizing, webmasters can simply &#8220;buy&#8221; the position. <p>&#13;This is because the placement of sponsor ads is determined by bids. Whomever offers the most amount of money per click gets the best placement position. <p>&#13;You can increase your chances of succeeding with pay per click search engine marketing if you create your ad the right way. The title of your ad should contain the main keyword that you&#8217;re trying to promote. The title and ad both need to be specific and not broad. You want to narrow the keyword down to ensure that your traffic truly is targeted.</p>
<p>&#13;If you&#8217;re trying to sell weight loss pills for instance, make sure you specifically mention weight loss pills in your ad. If your ad is too general, then someone who is looking for information about losing weight through exercising will click on your site. If they have no interest in what you&#8217;re trying to sell, then they&#8217;ll leave your site within a few seconds. You still have to pay for that useless click.</p>
<p>&#13;Pay per click search engine marketing can be very profitable if you do it right. Just as long as you create a catchy ad that is specifically relevant to your website, monitor your campaign and traffic, and make sure you don&#8217;t go over your budget, you can achieve a lot of success with pay per click search engine marketing.</p>

<p>I’d take the time to introduce myself but there’s no time. We’re in DEFCON Alpha and a lot of you out there are being affected!</p>
<p>As more and more “traditional media” based companies are getting into the PPC marketing space, I feel the utter frustration from business owners’ first-hand. I’m frustrated as well! There are just too many companies out there wasting your money! And I feel obligated to challenge the PPC wannabes and rid the marketing world of those that are just out to collect your money.</p>
<p>Look, don’t get me wrong. We’re all out to make money and I don’t blame the large companies losing market share to online marketing to try to compete in this space. What I do take issue with is that they are bastardizing what could be one of the most effective and efficient forms of direct marketing out there (despite what natural SEO guys are saying &#8211; I’ll get into that debate later).</p>
<p> So how do you know what a good Google Adwords PPC campaign looks like? Next time you sit down with a rep trying to sell you on an online PPC marketing campaign, ask them the following:</p>
<p> Can you tell me the estimated amount of clicks on a daily and monthly basis on a list of keywords relative to my business within the specific geographical area that I service? Can you tell me the average cost-per-click that I’ll pay on a list of keywords relative to my business?  How do you determine what days/times to run my campaign? To what pages on my site do you direct traffic to? How do you measure the success of this campaign? How often to I receive reports? Do you disclose all the keywords, costs, and ads to me? What is your set-up and management fee and how much of my budget is going to clicks? Can you guarantee that when my ad appears, it will appear in the top 1-3 positions? How do you choose the keywords for my campaign?
<p>These are just 10 of MANY questions you should ask but a great start. Any company trying to sell you a PPC campaign should be able to answer every single one of these questions in detail. At no point, should the answer be “we can’t do that!”</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Everyone who starts blogging would like to become successful. Success can be achieved and interpreted in different ways. Most bloggers are inclined to measure success by the number of traffic or visits generated by their blogs while some bloggers claim themselves successful when they effectively monetize their blogs. However you define and measure success in Blogging, Blogging Mix will be a useful concept for bloggers who aspire to become successful.</p>
<p>Today&#8217;s article will focus on defining and explaining the Blogging Mix and its components. It will also give you a brief overview of the necessary elements that every blogger needs in order to become successful in blogging.</p>
<p>In marketing, we have what we call as the marketing mix. Otherwise known as the 4Ps and 7Ps for goods and services respectively. These Ps (product, price, promotion, place, physical evidence, process and people) are key elements that determine the success of a marketing campaign, program or project.</p>
<p>Blogging has its own mix of elements that I wish to refer to as the Blogging Mix. Blogging Mix is made up of 3Cs, namely; Content, Connection and Continuity. These three elements are vital for the success of every blogger. Just like the marketing mix, the proper management of the Blogging Mix will lead bloggers to a successful blogging experience.</p>
<p><strong>Blogging Mix or the 3Cs (content, connection and continuity)</strong></p>
<p>Blogging Mix embodies all that a blogger should have or should accomplish to become successful in blogging. Content, Connection and Continuity are all that is needed for bloggers to achieve their goals and objectives. Let&#8217;s tackle the Blogging Mix one by one starting first with content.</p>
<p><strong>Content</strong></p>
<p>Content refers to the value of posts or entries that a blogger publish on his or her blog. It also refers to the topic, layout, theme, genre, tone, use of keywords, HTML and the format of the blog. In short, &#8216;content is a blog&#8217;s internal environment&#8217;. Take note that in content, bloggers are primarily if not solely responsible of its outcome.</p>
<p>Perhaps you have heard from other bloggers that content is king, king for the reason that according to them it&#8217;s the most important aspect of a blog. The idea of giving content the utmost importance is something I beg to disagree with. I have noticed some blogs with great contents but do not receive the attention and appreciation they deserve. I believe that a blog is supported by three elements (content, connection and continuity) in order to be successful. These three elements share the same and equal importance and value. They work like a tripod and the absence of one element makes blogging a failure.</p>
<p>Here are a few questions that can be used to gauge the effectiveness of a blog&#8217;s content.</p>
<p>1. Is your blog&#8217;s topic timely, relevant, informative or entertaining?</p>
<p>2. Are the posts on your blog presented well for convenient reading? Are your posts free from errors? Are you using your keywords in your posts?</p>
<p>3. Is your blog optimised for search engines? Is it search engine friendly? Are you using tags?</p>
<p>4. Do you spend time to conduct research before writing your entries? Do you take time to understand what your readers need and want?</p>
<p>Any question with a NO answer needs your attention. Take note that these are basic things in blogging. Articles discussing the more technical issues of content will be posted at bloggingmix.com very soon.</p>
<p><strong>Connection</strong></p>
<p>Connection is another important element in the Blogging Mix. Connection refers to the inbound or incoming (link to your web page from another site) and outbound or outgoing links to your blog. It also pertains to a blogger&#8217;s network of friends, readers, admirers, competitors and community. Connection should also be understood as the ways bloggers interact with their networks. And lastly, connection refers to the techniques and strategies that bloggers employ to publicize or promote their blogs. In simple words, &#8216;connection is the external environment of a blog&#8217;. While bloggers have more responsibilities to their blog&#8217;s content, connection largely depends to the blog&#8217;s external environment (i.e. readers, admirers, competitors etc.).</p>
<p>A lot of blog experts assert how links, both inward and outward, are essential in determining a blog&#8217;s search engine ranking or a blog&#8217;s visibility in the blogosphere. Link alone however cannot stand on its own. As I&#8217;ve said earlier, bloggers need connections to supplement content and continuity to support both. <p>To assess your blog&#8217;s Connection, here are a few more questions to guide you.</p>
<p>1. Do you receive positive and negative comments or feedbacks about your posts on your blog? Do you respond to these comments?</p>
<p>2. Do you have an RSS? Do people subscribe to your feeds?</p>
<p>3. Have you signed up in Technorati, Mybloglog, Blogcatalog or Squidoo?</p>
<p>4. Have you been commenting on other blogger&#8217;s blog? Have you been joining forums lately?</p>
<p>5. Is your blog registered to major search engines? Blog directories? RSS directories?</p>
<p><strong>Continuity</strong></p>
<p>Continuity may sound easy or simple but it actually shares the same level of devotion and hard work that content and connection require. Continuity refers to the continuous development or improvement of a blog&#8217;s content and continuity. It also refers to the consistent and continuous updating or posting fresh articles on your blog. Most successful bloggers of today are those people who remained consistent in updating their blogs. Through continuous blogging, a blogger will be able to gain a wide number of readers and will receive more referrals from search engines and other websites and weblogs.</p>
<p>You should however understand that continuity is not merely about continuous blogging or posting new entries or articles on your blog. More importantly, continuity is all about development and progress. It&#8217;s about taking the next step one after another. If you take time to read older blog posts of successful bloggers, you&#8217;ll find out that their current posts are a lot better compared to their older entries. This is what exactly continuity is all about.</p>

<p>To be a successful blogger your blog needs more than just content, connection and continuity. You should have the proper combination of the Blogging Mix or the 3 Cs depending on the nature of your blog.
